How we built a site to

educate and mobilize the public

around upcoming judicial nominations.

The Client

Why Courts Matter is an issue-based campaign launched by the Center for American Progress. The campaign focuses on educating and mobilizing the public around upcoming judicial nominations.

The Center for American Progress (CAP) is an independent, nonpartisan, educational institute dedicated to improving the lives of Americans through progressive ideas and action. Their work addresses 21st-century challenges such as energy, national security, economic growth and opportunity, immigration, education, and healthcare.

The Opportunity

Every day a seat on our nation’s federal court remains vacant, it is harder for ordinary Americans to have access to the courts. The numbers don’t lie. We are in the midst of a judicial vacancy crisis.

At any given time, there are federal court vacancies across the country that need to be filled by judges who have a proven commitment to constitutional rights and who understand that our courts must stand for justice and opportunity for all, not just the privileged few. Why Courts Matter was built to educate the public and give them the tools necessary to stand up to take action.

The Results

We provided design, development, and strategy services to create an interactive website that informs and engages visitors about the United States court system. The website features multiple applications that allow users to take action within their state.
